Awareness of the need to change one’s mindset and manage mental health often comes through adversity and Rita shares a her journey of losing everything after needing to abandon her successful marketing career overnight. She talks candidly about how she struggled for 10 years and then how she finally built a business which is now thriving. Having built her life and career again from rock bottom, her lessons learnt has helped her create a business where mindfulness is central to business culture. She provides learning points and takeouts that every business can embrace to create a balanced and happier culture within their organisations.
Rita Chandarana is Director of Eventologists Ltd, a creative Event Production Company based in Leicestershire delivering spectacular theming for brand events nationwide. Her career started 25 years ago as a marketeer in blue chip companies where as well as incredible skills, she also learnt of the kind of manager that she did not want to be and cultures she did not admire.
But her career was cut short 15 years ago to save her family business when her father fell ill. Having totally underestimated what was needed to take the business into modern times, it took 10 years before she could dedicate time to rebuild her career and life again. By this time she was exhausted and unable to envision anything until she started working on herself, talking the right talk and understanding what wasn’t serving her anymore!
She set off after another long and tiresome journey, but this time with the stronger mindset. Within 6 years she created a great events company now working on some of the biggest events in the country. She’s built an organisation with a culture of resilience, hope and integrity. She dedicates time to support people’s personal life as well as work life being because she knows that staff well-being directly relates to productivity and performance in the organisation
