‘PLEDGE FOR CHANGE’

We’ve teamed up withTime to Changeto encourage all event businesses to sign theEventWell Manifesto for the Event Industry.

It’s time to take ‘positive action’ to tackle the ‘real issue’ of one in three event professionals suffering from mental ill health each year.

The #EventWell20 campaign educates on the importance of a commitment to providing better support for employees and talent, and to making a positive change to workplace culture and mental health.

After signing the EventWell Manifesto, EventWell and Time to Change will provide six months free support to help event businesses work towards an ‘Employer Pledge Action Plan’, preparing their organisation to be ready to sign the Employer Pledge during Event Wellbeing Week in September, achieving the Thriving at Work six core standards at the same time, as set out in the Government’s 2017 Stevenson/Farmer Review.

The event industry is hugely underrepresented and currently sits 2nd to last in terms of UK Industry and employers who have already signed the Employer Pledge. This is something we urgently need to review and change, and the #EventWell20 campaigns aim to address this.

WHY YOU SHOULD SIGN THE EVENTWELL MANIFESTO?

One in three event professionals will suffer from mental ill health each year (EventWell).

42% of event professionals have changed job due to stress, 75% have felt stressed in the past 12 months (EventWell).

UK event professionals only rate their general wellbeing at 6 out of 10 (EventWell).

In the UK stress accounts for 45% of lost work days, and over 1.3 million people have suffered from workplace stress (HSE).

Mental ill-health is the leading cause of sickness absence in the UK, costing an average of £1,035 per employee per year (Time to Change).

Sign the EventWell Manifesto and let’s make an important step as an industry and a real commitment to positive change, for the benefit of allas we all have mental health!

About Event Wellbeing Week

The Event Wellbeing Week campaign launched in 2017 as a platform for individuals and businesses in the events industry to come together to campaign and advocate better mental health and wellbeing for all.

Event Wellbeing Week is the Event Industry’s national campaign and, we are delighted to announce that for it’s 4th year Event Wellbeing Day #EWD20 has been introduced to the calendar.

On Wednesday 26th February 2020, the same week as International Confex, #EWD20 compliments Event Wellbeing Week #EWW20 taking place later in the year from Monday 21st to Sunday 27th September, the same week as Venues + Events Live London.

Makes sure you have the dates in your diary for these essential wellbeing campaigns for the Event Industry and all event professionals, suppliers, agents, venues and planners.
