Event Wellbeing Day 2020

Wednesday 26th February

#EWD20 #EventWellbeingDay20 #EventWell20

In partnership withTime to Changewe are urging all event businesses to sign theEventWell Manifesto on the first Event Wellbeing Day for the Event Industry.

It’s time to take ‘positive action’ to tackle the ‘real issue’ of one in three event professionals suffering from mental ill health each year.

20 days after Time to Talk day on the 6th February, the #EWD20 campaign will encourage event businesses to commit to providing better support for their employees and talent, and to making a positive change to workplace culture and mental health.

After signing the EventWell Manifesto on the 26th February, Time to Change will provide six months free support to help event businesses work towards and be ready to sign the Employer Pledge during Event Wellbeing Week in September, achieving the Thriving at Work six core standards at the same time, as set out in the Government’s 2017 Stevenson/Farmer report.

The event industry currently sits 2nd to last in terms of other UK Industries that are signed up to the Employer Pledge, this is something we urgently need to review and change, and Event Wellbeing Day 2020 aims to address this.

One in three event professionals will suffer from mental ill health each year (EventWell).

42% of event professionals have changed job due to stress, 75% have felt stressed in the past 12 months (EventWell).

UK event professionals only rate their general wellbeing at 6 out of 10 (EventWell).

In the UK stress accounts for 45% of lost work days, and over 1.3 million people have suffered from workplace stress (HSE).

Mental ill-health is the leading cause of sickness absence in the UK, costing an average of £1,035 per employee per year (Time to Change).

Get ready to sign the EventWell Manifesto on the 26th February, and let’s make an important step as an industry and a real commitment to positive change, for the benefit of allas we all have mental health!
