EventWell® is a not-for-profit social enterprise, incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG), registered in England and Wales (Company No. 11012642).

We are often asked why EventWell is not registered as a Community Interest Company (CIC) or charity. The answer is simple: our legal structure is a deliberate choice that reflects our operating model, our communities and our commitment to financial sustainability.

Membership and community are central to our structure.

From Event Wellbeing Matters (EWM) and our student community to our Mental and Neuro Health First Aid community and SensorySafe pathway, membership, learning and professional development are important parts of our work.

The CLG model provides an established framework for developing these communities alongside our wider social mission.

We are primarily self-funded through trading, not grants.

Unlike many organisations in the social impact sector, EventWell does not rely on grants or external funding programmes to sustain its operations.

The overwhelming majority of our income is generated through commercial trading with organisers, venues and organisations across the events industry, delivering neuroinclusive event services, supervised sensory and quiet spaces, training and consultancy.

We welcome voluntary donations and fundraising support, but these represent a very small proportion of our overall income.

Our commercial activity supports our social purpose.

Our CLG structure allows us to operate as an independent, commercially active social enterprise, developing services, building partnerships and responding to the changing needs of the events industry.

We have chosen this model rather than the additional statutory frameworks associated with CIC or charitable status because it aligns with our membership activities, trading model and approach to sustainability.

Our focus is not on maximising private profit, but on generating sustainable income to support our operations, develop our services and further our social mission and impact.

Our principle is straightforward: we trade to sustain our purpose, rather than relying on funding to sustain our existence.

For EventWell, social enterprise is defined by the purpose of our work, the communities we support and the impact we create, not simply by the letters after our company name.
