Charlie’s story:
I´m a country girl from Stroud, Gloucestershire who began practicing yoga as a child with my mum to ease my insomnia and anxiety. Yoga started as a therapy and form of healing for me and continues to be until this day.
My true dedication to all eight limbs of yoga started at university when I was diagnosed with a heart condition. The condition affected my physical and mental health. It was manageable most of the time, but increased stress and anxiety over the years. I struggled in hot, small, busy and many other awkward environments that we regularly find ourselves in. I chose not to take medication ,but instead chose meditation. Meditation and yoga helped me cope with the anxiety of the condition and daily pranayama (breath control) practice even reduced the severity of my condition. Since then yoga is just part of my life.
After graduating with a BSc degree in NeuroScience & Psychology I joined the founding team of an awesome travel technology start-up. I was luckily enough to be part of building a rocketship and outstanding team to help the business grow. This experience helped me develop my people skills and guide others through stressful situations. I was running a sales team and saw the benefits of yoga at work first-hand as we offered a weekly yoga class in the office.
At the same time, through out my 5 years in London I was teaching yoga to friends, family, running private tuition and corporate classes.
So what now?
I finally decided to take the leap and advance my yoga practice by gaining my 200Hr yoga teaching qualification to start the DeepTide healing journey. After my training I started teaching and travelling around South America to gain more experience. I was able to teach in crazy and beautiful places. So much love. I was taught and guided by some phenomenal leaders. Things I never even imagined – exploring with shamans, spiritual leaders, I was taught acroyoga, meditation, sound healing and I fell in love with reggae yoga…
The experience allowed me to push my limits and teach in spaces and styles I would never have imagined or gained in London. I have guided large meditation and sound healing groups, taught yoga to many beautiful children from all around the world, taught yoga on the beach, yoga in the jungle and I created programs for students to take home to their countries. I am so grateful to have learned from and worked with so many wonderful souls from around the world.
I am now currently based in London teaching in many wonderful ways to whoever wants to move and groove to inner motionless with me. LOVE & PEACE
